Matís runs a very interesting operation in its biotechnology center at Sauðarárkrókur, a small town in the north of Iceland. Matís operation is within the science park Verið, a cluster of several research and development companies and institutions.
News from „Krókurinn“
About 15 University of Akureyri students will visit Matís in Sauðárkrókur on March 3rd, 2016 as part of their Molecular Biology course held by professor Kristinn P. Magnússon. Part of the schedule is a lecture about how cell biology is applied in Matís and some hands-on training in standard cell culture routines.
Also, Margrét Eva Ásgeirsdóttir has defended her MSc in Food Science very successfully and has been hired as specialist and is now part of the bioactivity group. Not to be accused of allowing no men into the facilities, Matís in Sauðárkrókur will also welcome an intern from France, Yonathan Souid from April 4th to June 26th 2016.
